The tooth design of the CL241 Racing Sail Line Cleat (Port) allows a quick, positive lock that is easy to release. Add to this its low profile and ability to hold high loads, makes it ideal for tensioning leech lines on larger sails, as well as luff lines on smaller sails. The integrated rope guide also make it suitable for adjusting & securing reefing points. The CL241 is also use as a low profile deck cleat and for tensioning trampolenes on dinghies and catamarans. Manufactured from aluminium for light weight and durable performance it can be mounted in two positions.
The CL241 has a silver stove enamel finish for a cost effective, high quality finish.
The CL241AN has a hard anodised finish to give the ultimate hard wearing surface.
CL273 is the Starboard version of this cleat.
CL281 is the nylon equivalent version of this cleat, for lower loads.
Use a backplate when riveting a cleat onto sails or technical fabrics as it will prevent the rivet pulling through. (Note that alloy cleats should be sewn onto carbon fibre sails, to avoid corrosion.)
For silver CL241, use the white CL212BP backplate.
For the Hard Anodised CL241AN, use a black CL212BP-B backplate.
For cleats without fairleads, look at the alloy CL258
and the nylon CL212
The nylon CL233 works in a similar way to the CL241, but has a triangular shape.
